JOB DESCRIPTION – Manufacturing Head (SHOOLAGIRI PLANT)

Position Title: Manufacturing Head

Location: Shoolagiri Plant

Reporting To: General Manager / Director

Experience Required: 13–15 years

Industry Background: Manufacturing (Mandatory)

Role Purpose

The Plant Head will be responsible for end-to-end management of the Shoolagiri manufacturing plant, ensuring operational excellence, quality assurance, cost efficiency, safety compliance, and people leadership across multiple product lines.

Key Responsibilities

Plant Operations & Manufacturing Excellence

• Lead overall plant operations including production, maintenance, quality, EHS, stores, and dispatch
• Ensure achievement of production targets, efficiency, yield, and delivery commitments
• Drive process optimization, capacity utilization, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Oversee smooth manufacturing of all product categories handled at the plant

Quality & Compliance

• Ensure strict adherence to quality standards, customer specifications, and audit requirements
• Drive zero-defect culture and continuous quality improvement
• Ensure compliance with ISO, customer audits, statutory, and regulatory requirements

EHS (Environment, Health & Safety)

• Promote a strong safety-first culture
• Ensure compliance with statutory EHS norms and company safety policies
• Drive initiatives to achieve zero accidents and safe working practices

Cost, Productivity & Budget Control

• Monitor and control manufacturing costs, wastage, and inventory
• Prepare and manage plant budgets and cost-reduction initiatives
• Improve productivity through Lean, Kaizen, and Six Sigma practices

People Leadership & HR Coordination

• Lead, mentor, and develop plant leadership team and workforce
• Foster a culture of discipline, accountability, engagement, and performance
• Coordinate with HR on manpower planning, training, performance management, and employee relations

Customer & Stakeholder Management

• Support customer interactions related to plant visits, audits, and technical discussions
• Coordinate with R&D, Supply Chain, Sales, and Corporate teams to meet business goals
• Act as a key interface between plant operations and senior management

Key Skills & Competencies

• Strong leadership and decision-making capability
• In-depth knowledge of manufacturing operations and plant management
• Exposure to multi-product manufacturing environments
• Sound understanding of EHS, Quality Systems (ISO 9001,14001,45001) and Compliance
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
• Experience in Lean Manufacturing / Kaizen / Continuous Improvement preferred

Educational Qualification

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering / Technology (Mechanical / Electrical / Production / Chemical preferred)
• Postgraduate qualifications in Operations / Management will be an added advantage

Experience Requirement

• 12–15 years of overall experience in manufacturing
• Minimum 5–7 years in a senior plant leadership role
• Experience handling complex manufacturing operations with multiple product lines is highly desirable
