Sol’s ARC is an NGO working to create inclusive opportunities for Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) in education and livelihoods.

This role is part of our Rural Livelihoods Project in Anklav Block, Gujarat, where we work directly with communities across four clusters.

About The Role

This is a senior field leadership role created as the programme has expanded to four clusters. The person will be responsible for guiding and supporting the Field Officers, monitoring the quality of their work, solving field-level challenges and ensuring that no eligible PwD is left without the support they need.

The role requires someone who is comfortable working closely with communities, understands livelihoods and SHG-based programmes, and can balance people management, field monitoring and problem-solving.

The person will be expected to spend significant time in the field, understand what is happening at the grassroots level, and ensure that programme plans translate into meaningful outcomes for PwDs.

What Will You Typically Do?

You will work 5 days a week — 4 days in the field across 4 clusters and 1 day for documentation and reporting. Daily travel between villages will be around 7–10 km. A personal two-wheeler is mandatory.

  • Guide and Monitor Field Officers
  • Manage and guide 3 Field Officers and review their household surveys for quality and accuracy.
  • Conduct short daily check-ins to plan work and review progress.
  • Train Field Officers on survey tools, PMIS and field processes.
  • Identify field challenges and share solutions with the Programme Manager.
  • Support PwDs to Access Entitlements
  • Identify PwDs, understand their needs and connect them to UDID cards, disability certificates and government schemes.
  • Organise camps and follow up until PwDs receive the support they are entitled to.
  • Identify and train Divyang Mitras from the community.
  • Build SHGs and Support Livelihoods
  • Support formation and monthly meetings of SHGs including PwDs.
  • Help each PwD identify and start suitable farm or non-farm livelihoods.
  • Support PwDs with training, problem-solving and market linkages.
  • Ensure at least 70% of products are sold within two months.
  • Stakeholder Management & Reporting
  • Build relationships with Panchayat members and government officials.
  • Share weekly and monthly programme reports.
  • Capture success stories and learning from the field.

Who Are We Looking For ?

  • Has 3–5 years of experience in community development, livelihoods, SHGs or a similar field role.
  • Has experience managing or guiding field teams.
  • Is comfortable travelling across villages and working directly with communities.
  • Can build trust with PwDs, families, SHGs and local stakeholders.
  • Is good at planning, follow-up and solving field-level problems.
  • Can use basic digital tools and is comfortable working with mobile apps and data.
  • Can communicate clearly in Gujarati and Hindi; basic English is an advantage.
  • Believes that Persons with Disabilities have the right to participate, earn and make their own choices.
  • Has a personal two-wheeler and is willing to travel regularly across the project clusters.
