Job Purpose

New Product Quality Specialist (NPQ) is a platform core team member, responsible for all aspects of Quality affecting New Product Development. As the "Point of Contact" for Quality in the platform, the NPQ is the Subject Matter Expert for all Quality planning tools and interfaces with the platform, plants and the regional and global quality departments. The NPQ is responsible for the entire quality plan for the assigned programs and, as a Core Team member, advocates for the extended quality and product support team (QPS), including Reliability Planning functions, etc.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the Quality and Reliability of products coming out of the platform teams
  • Facilitate the adherence to the Global Product Development (GPD) regarding quality issues during each phase of the process ensuring appropriate timing between milestones. During the GPD phases, continuously assess the quality status of the program, take actions within the platform to address issues and to define acceptable standards.
  • Facilitate the disciplined execution of the Quality and Reliability priority tools FMEA, Fault Tree Analysis, Control Plans, and other statistical techniques) through the design review process.
  • Champion the resolution of issues from Design Reviews and FMEAs (Design & Process). Focusing on key customer impact issues, ensuring they are resolved prior to Okay to Ship (OKTS).
  • Reliability Growth Planning:
    • New Content Risk Index (NCRI) and the Proactive Credits Log.
    • Lead the development and monitor the compliance of the RGT Plan
  • Participate in the setting of objective goals (CPA), Repairs per 100 units (R/100), Average Cost Per Unit (ACPU), Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) and report at mile-stones using the Quality Scorecard.
  • Champion the Problem Integrity Report (PIR) activities ensuring the key issues are resolved with an effective and validated solution.
Experience Required

  • Degree or equivalent in Mechanical or Agricultural Engineering with minimum 10-15 years of experience.
  • Strong analytical skills (preferably with knowledge of statistical tools)
  • Organizational and project management skills with the ability to participate in and lead cross-functional teams
  • IT Knowledge: Microsoft Office with Excel skills essential.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Product knowledge of Tractor is MUST.
  • Technical background with minimum of 8 years’ experience in a Product Technical Support / Quality position, (Agricultural / Heavy equipment experience preferred).
  • Strong analytical skills (preferably with knowledge of statistical tools)
  • Logical and rigorous problem-solving approach and experience with problem solving tools
  • Willing & able to travel as necessary, both within India & Internationally at customer, dealer & CNH locations.
