Job Description

Ensure workmen are adequately trained and respect EHS guidelines.
Encourage the team to participate in suggestion schemes and quality circles (Sparsh circles).
Maintain and monitor daily hours booking and log books.
Coordinate with the quality engineering team to resolve issues related to operational efficiency and quality.
Lead work improvement projects
Implement work schedules, assignments, and production sequences for operators and machines as per the shift plan.
Monitor in-process materials inventory to ensure material safety and security during shifts.
Coordinate with the technical team to address technical challenges and issues.
Ensure effective utilization of materials in the production process, including consumables like oil and tools, to reduce wastage.
Provide guidance to operators regarding quality requirements and ensure awareness of quality norms.
Assist in the identification of unsafe conditions and support cross-functional teams in taking corrective actions.
Aim to reduce in-process and finished goods rejections, internal rework, and achieve efficient operations for cost reduction.
Initiate cost-saving measures through innovative ideas for optimal machine, manpower, energy usage, and reduction of cycle time.
Supervise overall production operations to ensure adherence to the production schedule and targets per shift.
Communicate and enforce good housekeeping practices, hygiene, and cleanliness on the shop floor in alignment with company policies.
Maintain and update reports such as daily production and shift reports.
Identify training needs for operators and provide on-the-job training as required.
Continuously monitor various production parameters like quantity and quality output, machine utilization, and uptime.
Ensure updated documentation such as log books, safety sheets, absenteeism forms, and muster of workmen.
Motivate, counsel, and coach operators and trainees to enhance performance and delivery.
Update SAP system regularly and accurately as required.
Coordinate quality inspection and testing processes for finished products.
Prepare plan versus actual reports for production targets per shift.
Update planning, purchasing, and maintenance records in case of errors or deviations.
Monitor and resolve issues or conflicts related to work allocation.
Ensure shift-wise production targets are met and provide inputs to the production manager for planning subsequent shift targets.
Create awareness about maintenance processes and encourage the proper use of equipment for preventive maintenance measures.
Work on quality improvement projects (QIPs) and suggest measures for improvement.
Ensure quality checks are conducted as per standard operating procedures.
Assess resource requirements to ensure continuous production flow.
Manage leave allocation for operators in consultation with the production manager.
