Job Description
Location Name: Pune Corporate Office - Mantri
Job Purpose
We are looking for an ambitious and analytical Product Manager to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with senior product managers, IT, design, and business teams to build and improve products that bring value to our customers. You will support the entire product lifecycle—from requirement gathering to product launch and post-launch analysis. This is an ideal role for someone passionate about Product management who wants to grow into a product leadership position.
Duties And Responsibilities
Support Product Strategy: Assist Senior PMs in defining product vision, roadmaps, and go-to-market strategies based on data and market trends.
Market & Competitor Research: Conduct research into market trends, competitor offerings, and customer pain points to identify new opportunities.
Requirement Gathering: collaborate with stakeholders to gather detailed requirements and translate them into user stories, functional specifications, and product backlogs.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work daily with engineering and design teams to ensure features are delivered on time and meet quality standards. Act as the bridge between technical and business teams.
Data Analysis: Monitor key product metrics (KPIs) using tools like Google Analytics, Clevertap or User experior to measure feature success and suggest improvements.
User Feedback Loop: Analyze support tickets to understand user needs and advocate for the customer experience.
Launch Coordination: Assist in coordinating product launches, including creating documentation, training materials, and release notes for internal teams.
Key Decisions / Dimensions
Prioritization within Sprints: You decide the order of user stories and bug fixes in the sprint backlog to ensure the engineering team is always unblocked.
Acceptance Criteria: You have the final say on whether a feature is "done" and meets the quality standards required for release.
Clarification & Scope: You make real-time decisions on minor scope trade-offs (e.g., "Do we delay the release for this edge case, or patch it later?") to keep development moving.
Documentation Standards: You decide how product requirements are structured and documented to best serve the engineering and design teams.
Major Challenges
Ambiguous problem statements: You may be asked to “improve onboarding” or “increase engagement” without clear scope, success metrics, or constraints.
Prioritization with limited context: It’s hard to judge what matters most when you don’t yet have deep customer, business, or technical knowledge.
Influence without authority: You’re accountable for outcomes but don’t directly manage engineering/design, so progress depends on persuasion and clarity.
Stakeholder pressure and conflicting opinions: Sales, support, leadership, and engineering can all want different things; navigating this diplomatically takes time.
Writing high-quality requirements: Turning messy inputs into crisp user stories, acceptance criteria, and edge cases is harder than it looks, and gaps show up late in QA or after release.
Balancing speed vs. quality: You’ll feel pressure to ship quickly while also preventing bugs, UX confusion, and rework.
Learning the domain curve: In areas like fintech, payments, lending, compliance, or security, the domain rules can be complex and mistakes can be costly.
Managing scope creep: Small “quick changes” pile up during development, and timelines slip unless you control changes tightly.
Communication overhead: A lot of time goes into alignments, status updates, documentation, and follow-ups—leaving less time for discovery and deep thinking.
Required Qualifications And Experience
Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
Experience: 2-4 years of experience in product management, business analysis, project management, or a related role.
Analytical Skills: Ability to analyze data to derive insights; familiarity with Excel/Sheets is required.
Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills. You can explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders clearly.
Technical Aptitude: A basic understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Tools: Familiarity with product management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, Trello, Asana) is preferred.
Nice to Haves
Basics of UI/UX design tools (e.g., Figma, Balsamiq).
Background in [Specific Industry, e.g., Fintech, SaaS, E-commerce].
Certification in Product Management or Agile (e.g., CSPO).
