About The Role

The role is based in the Pune R&D Center, at SAS R&D Pune facility. We are looking for Software Development Engineer to develop services and software in the Platform Services area of SAS Viya. You will be a part of the Platform Services team, working on new/existing software. You will design, develop, and debug software solutions of varying complexity for both new and existing products, ensuring adherence to established development standards, timelines, and quality expectations. Furthermore, you will be joining a friendly team with a broad range of experience. The Platform Services R&D team is responsible for developing and delivering secure, scalable, performant and robust services using cutting-edge technology to deliver superior customer experience. We seek to serve other groups within SAS R&D through collaboration to achieve the organization objectives.

Essential Technology Experience

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related quantitative field
• At least 5 years of working experience in development or programming with an excellent understanding of software development lifecycle
• Strong knowledge of software architecture and design patterns with best practices in REST API/microservices development
• Strong knowledge of cloud-based development environment, Kubernetes deployments, CICD
• Excellent programming aptitude in any languages like Go lang, Java, Groovy, Python with strong troubleshooting/debugging skills
• Strong knowledge of Jenkins, Git, GitHub workflows
• Strong knowledge of automation testing with hands-on experience on automation testing tools
• Familiar with Agile methodology and with tools such as Jira, Confluence
  
  

Primary Responsibilities

• Design and develop high quality, testable and scalable software solutions within established timelines while adhering to R&D best practices and processes.
• Manage project stakeholders (e.g. managers, developers, and product managers) to ensure implementation satisfies functional requirements and is consistent with established R&D standards.
• Participate in project scoping and scheduling
• Track progress of individual tasks and alert stakeholders of issues blocking or preventing completion of tasks/responsibilities.
• Ensure quality through functional, unit and performance testing.
• Work closely with testing by providing thorough reviews of the test plan.
• Maintain accountability for the entire life cycle of the code including support for both internal and external consumers.
• Contribute to the technical documentation that satisfies both internal and external consumers.
  
  

Experience: 5-9 Years

Experience Of These Items Would Be Useful

• Knowledge of any public cloud providers like Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, etc.
• Experience with performance tuning, multi-tenant architecture.
• Expertise in Kubernetes and containerized deployments.
