Senior Associate - Performance Tester

Job Purpose

The Performance Tester will be responsible for planning, designing, executing, and analysing performance, stress, and load tests for critical applications. This role involves testing UI, API, and database layers with a strong emphasis on DB-level load testing. The Performance Tester will work closely with development, QA, and business teams to identify performance bottlenecks, ensure application scalability, and deliver high‑quality performance testing solutions. The role also involves creating and maintaining performance test scripts using JMeter (mandatory) and LoadRunner or equivalent tools, along with willingness to work with Python for performance scripting.

Desired Skills And Experience

• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on experience in Performance Testing.
• Strong expertise in JMeter (Mandatory) for performance and load testing scenarios.
• Experience with LoadRunner or other equivalent performance testing tools is desirable.
• Willingness and ability to write and maintain Python scripts for performance test automation.
• Strong knowledge of stress testing, load testing, endurance testing, and volume testing, particularly of the data loads.
• Ability to perform UI, API, and DB-level performance testing, with specific focus on database load testing.
• Experience writing and optimizing SQL queries for performance validation.
• Capital Markets / Financial Services domain experience is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with performance monitoring tools and techniques to identify server‑side bottlenecks.
• Understanding CI/CD pipelines and DevOps concepts (Git, Jenkins, etc.) is an added advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and in cross‑functional team environments.
  
  

• Interpret performance testing requirements and collaborate with internal teams to define test objectives.
• Design, develop, and maintain performance test scripts using JMeter and Python.
• Conduct load, stress, endurance, spikes, and volume tests across UI, API, and database layers.
• Perform DB-level load testing, analyze query performance, and identify bottlenecks.
• Execute performance test cycles, monitor system behavior, and analyze results to identify performance issues.
• Review system logs, profiling outputs, and performance metrics to diagnose root causes.
• Prepare detailed performance test reports including observations, analysis, and recommendations.
• Work closely with developers, architects, and DBAs to troubleshoot performance issues and suggest optimizations.
• Validate fixes and improvements by re-running and comparing performance benchmarks.
• Maintain performance testing documentation, including scripts, processes, and test plans.
• Identify opportunities to automate and enhance performance testing frameworks.
• Support stakeholders with performance-related issues and provide technical guidance on performance best practices.
• Ensure adherence to SLAs and contribute to continuous improvement in performance testing processes.
• Work independently, manage multiple tasks, and deliver results under tight deadlines.
