Job Description

We are seeking an experienced PL/SQL Developer with 5-7 years of hands-on experience in Oracle database development. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in PL/SQL programming, database performance tuning, and troubleshooting. Experience with Perl scripting is highly desirable. Familiarity with GitHub version control and AQS (Automated Quality Systems/Assurance Quality Solutions, as applicable) is required.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain complex PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, triggers, and database objects.
  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into scalable database solutions.
  • Optimize SQL queries and database performance through tuning and indexing strategies.
  • Support production incidents, troubleshoot database-related issues, and implement fixes.
  • Develop and maintain data migration, validation, and automation scripts.
  • Collaborate with application developers, QA teams, and business stakeholders throughout the SDLC.
  • Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to development standards and best practices.
  • Work with GitHub repositories for source code management, branching, merging, and release activities.
  • Develop or maintain Perl scripts for automation, batch processing, and operational support (good to have).
  • Ensure proper documentation of technical designs, code changes, and deployment procedures.

Technical Skills

  • 5-7 years of experience in Oracle Database Development.

  • Experience in database design, data modeling, and ETL processes.
  • Hands-on experience with GitHub, including branching strategies and pull request workflows.
  • Working knowledge of AQS and quality assurance processes.
  • Understanding of Unix/Linux environments and shell scripting.
  • Experience in troubleshooting and resolving production issues.

Good to Have

  • Knowledge of Perl scripting for automation and batch processing.
  • Exposure to DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Knowledge of API integrations and data exchange mechanisms.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Oracle certification is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
