Your Impact on Our Mission

As the Engineering Manager for the Site Reliability Engineering team in India, you will lead a mission-critical function that keeps Zocdoc’s infrastructure secure, cost-efficient, observable, and reliable. You will guide a team responsible for OS and container patching, CI/CD infrastructure, cloud cost management, container image lifecycle, and Artifactory/security scanning. Your leadership will shape the systems, processes, and automation that platform and product engineers depend on every day.

You will help define operational excellence for this new team-setting standards, maturing practices, and ensuring high-confidence execution across routine patching cycles, builder-image maintenance, and automated compliance. You’ll be both a technical partner and a people leader, capable of stepping into complex technical discussions while coaching the team toward strong ownership, efficient execution, and a culture of continuous improvement.

Your day-to-day is…

• Leading and mentoring a Site Reliability Engineering team responsible for:
• OS and container patching lifecycles
• AWS cost optimisation, tagging strategy, and reporting
• CI/CD infrastructure, including TeamCity licensing, agent build images, and underlying compute
• Artifactory maintenance and dependency management
• Container-based image creation and standardisation
• Automation and monitoring for all team-owned systems
• Establishing operational processes, readiness criteria, and automation-first principles
• Partnering with Security, SRE, and Platform teams to align on compliance, observability, and reliability expectations
• Driving consistent execution through clear goal-setting, planning, and accountability rituals
• Managing escalations and ensuring high-quality incident response and follow-through
• Leading cost governance strategy and tooling improvements
• Advocating for engineering culture, hiring the right talent, and developing strong career pathways
• Making thoughtful trade-offs, balancing product velocity, safety, and efficiency
  

You’ll be successful if you have…

• 10+ years in DevOps, SRE, Platform, or Infrastructure Engineering roles
• 3+ years managing engineers, with experience building or scaling teams
• Strong technical fluency with Linux, containers, CI/CD systems, and AWS
• Experience owning patching, compliance, and security-oriented automation at scale
• Familiarity with cost management and cloud-usage optimisation
• Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CDK, etc.)
• Experience managing internal platforms as products with clear stakeholders
• Clear, structured communication and strong decision-making instincts
• A coaching mindset with a track record of growing high-performing teams
• A bias towards automating toil, and leaving systems better than you found them
