What Youll Do
Avalara Professional Services team is looking an experienced Manager to manage one to multiple lines of business. The Manager will manage teams in India while working with partners in both the United States and India. This is an excellent opportunity for you to join an group of professionals dedicated to exceeding customer expectations in the management of complex projects and delivery of sales and use tax automation services.
We base this role out of Viman Nagar, Pune office. You will work in hybrid environment for 2-3 days from office. You will report to Director.
What Your Responsibilities Will Be
- Manage operations performance with a laser focus on Turn Around Time & Quality.
- Responsible for the planning, direction, execution, control, and completion of assigned projects.
- Work extremely diligently in managing several projects keeping in mind the timelines.
- Create process improvement strategy and processes to aid and improve our performance
- Monitor client projects and to keep projects moving forward.
- Use your experience to elicit requirements and document related business processes, propose/understand best practices for sales and use tax automation programs.
- Manage relationships with all partners
- Ensure that team processes are documented.
- Work independently with internal and external groups on multiple simultaneous projects.
What You’ll Need To Be Successful
- You have experience of 12 - 16 years, whos worked in Shared services model. Have experience managing teams and engaging with Partners outside India.
- 5 years experience as a people manager with examples of people development, morale building, and process migration from onshore (building teams, building processes).
- With examples of making not just the right decisions but the hard ones. Can function as a true "partner" with onshore management.
- Independently implement plans along on the ownership and be able to anticipate operational exigencies and plan accordingly.
- Determine long and short-term possible effects of the proposed actions while solving the problems and a appetite for solving problems.
- Organize, classify data in a consumable format and draw logical conclusions from the data and identify the options/solutions to address the problems.
- Set up and leading the way to collaborate with internal / external partners towards strategic goals and being able to handle conflict and facilitate resolution
- Graduate (10+2+3) from Commerce or Accounts background.
- Have led AI projects in the team and have good understanding of AI implementation in existing processes.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with sales tax compliance
- Worked in a leadership role managing multiple functional partners (internal and external).
- AI certifications to guide projects and able to understand changing requirements of the role to guide AI plans.
- Experience in documentation process with Government Authorities related to registration or licensing of businesses
- Experience and working knowledge of Tax Compliance, including Licenses and Registrations across VAT, Lodging, Hospitality, Communications, Banking, Insurance or Shipping domains.
