We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Consultant Specialist.

In this role, you will:

• Engineer infrastructure solutions for configuring, delivering, and supporting Linux environments and services.
• Implement new technologies and provide on-going support on hardware and software solutions across both live and non-live environments.
• Build efficient and high-quality reusable services that have cross organisational use.
• Develop automation processes for provisioning, configuring, and managing bare metal servers in a large-scale environment.
• Collaborate with internal teams to design and improve tools that automate and streamline infrastructure deployment and operations.
• Partner with software development teams to engineer and enhance solutions. Advise on design, development, and best practice for Infrastructure deliveries.
• Provide operational support on incident and perform root cause analysis to prevent problems happening. Ensure appropriate measures are taken to improve and sustain high quality and prevent recurrence.
• Consistently share best practices and improve processes within and across teams.
  
  

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

• Demonstrable experience of Linux administration and architecture, including knowledge of volume managers, multi-pathing and kernel parameter tuning.
• Experience of managing server lifecycle including provisioning, configuring patching, upgrading and demise.
• Solid understanding of x86 hardware and virtualisation technologies preferably KVM or similar, IaaS / PaaS private or public solutions.
• Experience with scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or have the willingness to learn
• Proven hands-on experience with any of Ansible, Puppet, or Terraform for infrastructure provisioning and configuration management.
• Knowledge of infrastructure as code and CI/CD pipelines including secrets management
• Knowledge of storage infrastructure with experience of configuring file systems on NAS storage and SAN solutions, both standalone and clustered, including replication.
• Knowledge of network components and services such as Load balancers, Routers, Proxies, Firewalls.
  
  

Preferred Experience:

• Exposure to Cloud and containerization technologies such as Kubernetes, Docker, Podman, etc, is a plus
• Familiarity with observability framework and toolkits such as Open Telemetry, Grafana or similar
• Experience working in a major enterprise environment or experience operating in highly regulated industry, e.g., Financial Services, preferred
