Full Stack Tester Senior Software Engineer

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Senior Software Engineer

In this role, you will:

1. Deliver end-to-end test activities across the POD, including BDD, API, UI (web and mobile), performance, security, exploratory and accessibility testing, aligned to the Global Test Strategy.
2. Own testing delivery within the POD, ensuring dependencies and touchpoints across PODs and Quality Engineering teams are identified, managed and resolved.
3. Build, maintain and continuously improve automated test coverage to support well-structured, maintainable and fully tested systems delivered on time and within budget.
4. Represent Quality Engineering in Scrum ceremonies and key project forums, acting as the single point of accountability and escalation for testing.
5. Establish strong working relationships with Product Owners, engineers and stakeholders, communicating progress, risks, defects and quality status clearly.
6. Provide evidence-based recommendations on release readiness, advising on product quality and go-live decisions.
7. Contribute to Quality Engineering discipline improvements, including standards, ways of working and test process optimisation; mentor Automation Test Engineers and Exploratory Testers.
8. Proactively remove blockers through structured problem-solving, proposing workarounds and measuring improvements that drive efficiency and value.

To be successful in this role, you should meet the following requirements:

1. Proven experience building and enhancing automation frameworks (design, implementation and maintainability).
2. Strong Quality Engineering and test management skills, with an understanding of the Retail Banking domain.
3. Hands-on experience with Core Java and build tools (Maven/Gradle).
4. Strong API testing capability using REST principles and tools such as REST Assured and/or Karate.
5. UI automation experience across web and mobile using Selenium WebDriver and Appium.
6. Solid understanding of BDD approaches and tooling: Cucumber, Gherkin; plus test frameworks such as JUnit and/or TestNG.
7. Working experience in Agile/SAFe delivery, including in-sprint automation and CI/CD exposure (e.g., Jenkins), with strong tooling usage (Jira, Confluence).
8. Basic understanding of performance testing and cyber security testing concepts and how they fit into a quality strategy.
9. Understanding of cloud-native delivery concepts, including cloud-based architectures, Kubernetes and Docker, and device/browser farms such as BrowserStack (or equivalent).
