What You’ll Do

"This position is responsible for delivering key engineering results aligned to the actuation business strategy of FMC division of Aerospace Group. Responsibility includes building organizational capability and capacity within the region and executing as per the global engineering strategy for the Group.

The role will provide leadership to drive synergies across businesses and accountable to execute NPI, NTI and Sustaining projects for electromechanical actuation domain. This role will be responsible to define, develop and deploy industry leading technologies, products and systems.

The candidate must have a strong background in leading technology & product teams, design for manufacturing & assembly, DFSS and digital transformation"

"- Portfolio leadership- This leader will be responsible for driving & growing Eatons Actuation Products Portfolio and enhance teams participation within global work share complete with achievement of the success mtrics.

  • Leadership and Management of the projects portfolio including research & development, systems engineering, product testing & compliance for significant enhancement in New Technology/ Product Introductions aligned to product & technology roadmap.
  • Help meet the schedule, scope, cost and technical targets for all projects.
  • Hiring, development and retention of talent/ employees in the department. Develop and maintain relationships with global stakeholders.
  • Drive DFSS, Application Engineering Fundamentals & ‘Analysis First’ mind-set in product development and engineering projects.
  • Standardization of processes and practices that will enable organization to engineer secure, future-proof, optimized solutions, while helping to improve efficiency and productivity
  • Develop a learning culture within the team.
  • Engage talent and hold them accountable to attain high level of performance enablement
  • Collaborate with Centers of excellence / functions & partnering teams located across multiple geographical locations.
  • Leverage digital, AI & physical prototyping capabilities to drive product innovation.
  • Influence and impact manufacturing & operations through sound product engineering support to help deliver products to end customers on time
  • Manage capacity and resources including software/hardware as part of organizations budget & planning
  • Drive Technology roadmap, Performance Management, Merit planning, Customer & Employee survey actions
  • Build strong customer relationships and anticipate/ deliver customer centric solutions
  • Lead design, development, integration and validation of EMAs across aerospace platforms and applications such as flaps, spoilers, landing gear, TRAS and wepaons bay door
  • Drive predictive modeling, systems engineering, HIL / MIL testing and PErformance verification using tools such as DOORS, CAMEO, Matlab and Amesim
  • Ensure end to end requirements traceability, flow down, maturation and validation in line with ARP4354 and ARP4761
  • Drive development of modular and scalable actuator architecture and related technology blocks
  • Oversee EMA sustaining engineering portfolio and provide technical oversight for plant support metrics
  • Provide technical oversight on electric motor development and resilliency efforts
  • Address challenges in transitioning from hydraulic to electric actuation, including power density, fault isolation, and certification complexity.
  • Drive development of electrical motors with differentiated technology
  • Drive motor resilliency efforts
  • Drive development of controller and controls for Actuation systems in collaboration with Electronics and SW COE"


Qualifications

Bachelor’s / Masters Degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering with 12-14, Masters Degree with 10 - 12 years of experience

Skills

"- Managing technical engineering team & related operations including knowledge of Quality Management System such as AS9100D

  • Familiarity with aerospace standards (DO-160, DO-254, DO-178) and certification processes
  • Leading product development including associated test planning, qualification testing procedures with an ability to resolve issues in realtime.
  • Strong understanding of electromechanical actuator design, modeling, and control systems.
  • Knowledge of Aircraft architecture - specifically control surfaces
  • Deep knowledge of rotary and linear electromechanical actuators, including brushless DC motors, stepper motors, and servo systems
  • Effective use of Design Analysis, Reliability, Manufacturing process, Customer interface, Continuous improvement methodologies
  • Customer oriented approach, building customer & supplier relationships and hands on product testing experience will be an added advantage
  • Experience with system-level integration, testing, and qualification of flight control systems
  • In depth know-how on Electromechanical actuator requirements, design standards, validation and testing
  • Proficiency in tools like MATLAB/Simulink, CAD, FEA, and PLM systems."
