Were now hiring an experienced DBA to join our team, based in Pune.

Reporting to the Infrastructure Engineering Manager, in a newly formed SME team, youll provide the Group Service Operations team with support and expertise on all aspects of the databases and applications.

You will proactively identify opportunities to improve our service to our customer base, so that SLAs are exceeded and customer feedback is consistently high.

Key Responsibilities

Your Responsibilities Will Include

• maintaining a high level of Database and Application availability and performance.
• Creating and optimising SQL queries and stored procedures
• Proactively monitoring SQL databases
• Undertaking capacity planning to ensure that there is adequate capacity within the system
• Providing support to both internal teams and external customers, assisting with queries and related data quality and application problems.
• Supporting SQL Server instances through complete lifecycles (build, maintain, update migrate)
• Collaborating with the Dev team to identify and eliminate issues that impact performance
• Identifying opportunities to introduce new tools and methodologies which help to optimise overall efficiencies, where appropriate.
  
  

• Strong hands-on experience (5+ years) writing, reviewing and optimising SQL Server/ T-SQL queries in an enterprise environment.
• Proven ability to analyse and improve query performance using execution plans, indexing strategies and query refactoring.
• Experience of maintaining stored procedures, views, functions and triggers.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve database performance and reliability issues
• Demonstrated understanding of infrastructure (compute, storage, networks)
• Exposure to backup, recovery and data consistency practices
• Exposure to Azure public or private cloud infrastructure and private data centres
