What You’ll Do
We are looking to hire a Senior Associate Software Development Engineer in Test to join our team that supports and tests SAS languages and procedures that provide computational services as part of the server tier of the SAS architecture. This role focuses on testing and validating production code base primarily written in C that enables customers to access, explore, prepare, analyze, and share data. This role provides opportunities to grow technical depth and testing knowledge through mentorship, code reviews, and collaboration with experienced engineers. As a Senior Associate Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET), we are looking for someone who:
Creates and maintains high quality of test automation using modern development techniques and provides key data points to support metrics-based decision making.
Applies automated tests at every layer of the application stack, both inside and outside of the continuous delivery pipeline.
Produces and analyzes metrics that illustrate the quality of applications and develop insight that contribute to quality engineering decisions.
Works with team to promptly triage test failures with precision and accuracy, maintaining the health of the build pipeline.
Works collaboratively with development, product, operations, and support peers to encourage quality, as a key design element in all work efforts.
Engages in code reviews for product, test, and infrastructure code.
Protects users from escaped defects, participates in support escalations, and value Customer Experience (CX) above all.
Ensures all applicable security policies and processes are followed to support the organizations secure software development goals.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related quantitative field
2-4 years of professional experience in software development or automated testing in C, Python, or similar languages
Experience with integration, regression, and unit testing
Experience using Agile development practices
Familiarity with various cloud environments and concepts
Equivalent combination of related education, training and experience may be considered in place of the above qualifications.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with CI/CD pipeline and associated tools like Git, Gerrit, Jenkins, GitHub, etc.
Experience designing, implementing, and maintaining automated test scripts using Python
Experience with one or more modern programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, Golang)
Experience with SAS programming.
Programming and debugging skills with a working understanding of software architecture and testing principles
Experience with Linux.
Working knowledge of Kubernetes and container-based application development.
