Responsibilities

• Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls, and related services; resolve L2 escalations with clear updates and handoffs.
• Customer monitoring deployments: Plan and deploy network monitoring for clients (agent/snmp/syslog/traps/flows as applicable), baseline dashboards/alerts, validate polling coverage, and hand over operational ownership with clear acceptance criteria.
• Asset & topology documentation: Discover and maintain accurate records of customer-connected devices (make/model, firmware, interfaces/VLANs, management IPs, dependencies, uplinks), update diagrams and the inventory/CMDB, and reconcile changes after upgrades or migrations.
• Perform configuration changes, upgrades, and maintenance windows per change control; verify outcomes and document results.
• Implement network expansions and upgrades using approved designs and standards; flag risks, gaps, and optimization opportunities early.
• Apply and maintain security baselines (firewall rules, VPNs, access controls); support IDS/IPS and logging where deployed.
• Follow TRAI and internal ISP operational practices; escalate compliance questions appropriately.
• Use Ansible for repeatable checks, backups, parsing, and light automation; suggest improvements to reduce manual work.

Requirements

• 4-6 years of hands-on network engineering (ISP or service provider exposure strongly preferred).
• Experience deploying/supporting monitoring stacks in multi-tenant or customer environments (LibreNMS/Zabbix/Icinga2/Grafana-Prometheus or equivalent), including SNMP credential hygiene and least-privilege access.
• Solid routing and switching; practical use of OSPF and BGP (MPLS exposure a plus).
• Comfortable configuring routers, switches, and firewalls; hands-on with VPNs; basic IDS/IPS familiarity.
• Strong troubleshooting under pressure; methodical packet/path/layer approach.
• Experience delivering network projects or upgrades as a contributor (planning, execution, validation)
• Awareness of regulatory/compliance context for ISPs; willingness to follow policy strictly.
• Excellent communication and documentation; customer-aware execution.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced startup where priorities shift with clear ownership for your tasks.
