What You Will Do
- Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of a high-performing software engineering team.
- Drive end-to-end delivery of scalable, secure, and high-quality software solutions.
- Provide technical leadership while remaining hands-on with architecture, design, and critical problem-solving.
- Mentor, coach, and develop engineers, enabling career growth and high performance.
- Own hiring, onboarding, and performance management of team members.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, QA, UX, DevOps) to define and deliver impactful solutions.
- Work across global teams and time zones to ensure seamless execution.
- Improve engineering processes, quality standards, and development practices.
- Contribute to architectural decisions, system scalability, and performance optimization.
- Drive adoption of Agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices.
- Ensure high standards of code quality, testing, security, and maintainability.
- Stay hands-on when required—designing, building, and releasing critical components or integrations.
What You Will Bring To Forescout
Leadership & Execution
- Strong leadership with a “get things done” mindset.
- Ability to inspire teams, remove blockers, and drive execution in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience working cross-functionally and influencing stakeholders.
- Excellent coaching, mentoring, and people development skills.
Core Technical Competencies
- 10–14 years of software engineering experience, with 3+ years in technical leadership or management roles.
- Hands-on experience in Java and/or Python (preferred), along with exposure to C/C++, JavaScript, or similar languages.
- Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and system design.
- Experience building scalable distributed systems and microservices architectures.
- Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, HTTP, SSL, SSH).
- Experience with APIs, third-party integrations, and workflow orchestration systems.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, version control (Git), and build systems.
- Strong knowledge of software quality engineering practices, testing frameworks, and code reviews.
- Exposure to security best practices, performance optimization, and system scalability.
- Working knowledge of LLM-based systems, Python ecosystems, or AI-driven workflows (agents, embeddings, prompt engineering) is a plus.
Process & Tools
- Deep understanding of Agile/Kanban/Scrum methodologies.
- Experience with engineering tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and modern developer toolchains.
- Ability to define, improve, and scale engineering processes.
