Job Description
Reporting to the Senior Director - Operations, you will:
- Lead procurement strategy for steel plates, structural materials, consumables, logistics, and project requirements.
- Develop and manage strong supplier relationships to ensure quality, cost efficiency, and reliable supply.
- Negotiate commercial contracts and drive cost optimization initiatives.
- Forecast procurement requirements based on project drawings and production schedules.
- Manage vendor development, qualification, and performance evaluation.
- Ensure effective inventory management and material availability for project execution.
- Drive techno-commercial evaluations, quote analysis, and lead-time optimization.
- Coordinate with quality teams for supplier inspections and compliance verification.
- Oversee purchase orders, delivery tracking, and purchase-to-delivery cycle management.
- Lead procurement reporting, MIS preparation, and stakeholder communication.
- Holds a B.E. in Mechanical or Civil Engineering; MBA or equivalent preferred.
- Brings 18-25 years of procurement experience within steel, manufacturing, or project-driven industries.
- Strong expertise in vendor development, cost estimation, techno-commercial negotiations, and supply chain management.
- Proven experience in procurement planning aligned with project schedules.
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management capabilities across internal and external partners.
- Excellent negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Senior leadership role in procurement for a globally reputed engineering organization.
