Position Name: Forward Sourcing & Special Launch Support – All commodities

Qualification: BE / B Tech / Post Graduate in Purchasing

Years of Experience: 6 to 10 Years

Location: Chakan Pune

Summary

Purpose of the Position (Short Summary of the Role):

The position is responsible for the following:

• Forward sourcing (means sourcing of parts for new projects), which include:
  
  

Obtain technical information (CNTL, LAH), sending RFQs to bidders through system, obtaining offers. Clarify technical queries with CFT (Engineering, Purchase, Logistics, Finance) and/or with suppliers, organizing cost from Cost management, Obtain CBDs from supplier for part/tooling. Negotiations with potential suppliers. Send targets to suppliers. Revise the targets if required. Present the results in various sourcing committees (India, CZ, Germany), all nomination.

• localization of pre-defined car parts (for Indian and Export projects) from suppliers in right quantity and quality for the various builds as per the defined Project milestones.
  
  

Key skills necessary manufacturing process knowledge (Plastic, Metal, Automation etc.) and strong project management. He/She should be skillful in managing the part development process with different processes, technical standards with suppliers. He/She should plan, collaborate and steer with internal CFT team program to achieve the localization, part productivity capacity targets, and supplier’s industrialization. Support tool up/tryouts, optimizing the production processes at supplier end, evaluating & implementing new technologies to ensure trouble-free ramp up & launch of the product.

Knowledge of sourcing processes: Supplier base, commercial terms etc.

Automotive Tooling and Manufacturing processes – Plastic domain like dashboard, bumper, Door panels, console, OVRM, Seats, Latest trends.

Knowledge on manufacturing processes and latest trends

Knowledge to evaluate and give feedback on mold designs and tool designs

Capacity study, bottleneck identification and Actions deployment

Problem solving

Project Planning, forecasting and Risk analysis, mitigation actions

Key Responsibilities & Tasks: 1. Forward Sourcing

• Carry out Forward sourcing for new project as per the project time line
• Monitoring RFQs sent to bidders through STAR with eNTL. Check completeness of data, send out missing information if any
• Ensure necessary ratings obtained from Logistics, Quality and R&D and Finance targets are available
• Clarify technical, commercial, logistics queries with respective departments
• Arrange costing for part and tooling. Obtain CBDs for part and tooling from various supplier
• Prepare and issue targets to various suppliers for part and tooling
• Negotiations with suppliers/ for part and tooling as per the targets
• Preparation of sourcing presentation in standard format after negotiations along with Production purchase buyers and present to various sourcing committees (India, Overseas)
• Preparation and issue of nomination letters eNA with all documents
  
  

2. Tooling Development & Industrialization – 7 Gate Process for Parts responsible

• Implementation of 7 Gate development process
• Ensuring the supplier part development and readiness (Industrialization and Tooling development) as per the targets set in project milestones like VFF, PVS, OS and SOP for Car
• Initiation and accomplishment of timeline commitment with supplier and CFT
• Conducting the productivity check (Tool design and Method plan review, Feasibility study, FMEA, Simulations, Process study, Raw material suitability, capacity study and planning etc.)
  
  

3. Organization – Forward sourcing

• Adherence to Forward Sourcing process as per RASI
• Inform to management about the progress, track about FS processes
