About This Role

We are seeking a skilled Backup & Recovery Specialist to deliver L3 technical support and manage end‑to‑end backup administration across diverse environments. The role involves handling complex incidents, ensuring data protection compliance, managing lifecycle activities, supporting Azure native backup solutions, and collaborating with international teams to maintain robust service availability.

What You’ll Do

  • Provide L3 technical support, guidance, and direction for backup and recovery products.
  • Manage comprehensive backup administration and data lifecycle activities.
  • Deliver timely and accurate restore requests as per customer needs.
  • Troubleshoot complex incidents requiring advanced analytical and technical decision‑making.
  • Accelerate issue resolution by engaging with technical consultants and relevant experts.
  • Maintain and achieve agreed service level commitments.
  • Support root cause analysis for complex issues, coordinating with vendors and cross‑functional teams.
  • Ensure robust data protection practices and provide required data for audits and compliance.
  • Develop procedures and documentation for new backup projects to support seamless operational transition.
  • Contribute to automation initiatives by proposing and developing process‑improving ideas.
  • Support 24×7 availability through planned on‑call duties.

Who You Are

  • Possess 8–10 years of experience in IT backup administration.
  • Skilled in administering and troubleshooting EMC Networker, Avamar, and Data Domain.
  • Experienced in managing Azure Native backup solutions.
  • Knowledgeable in implementing and installing backup software solutions.
  • Effective in collaborating with international and cross‑cultural teams.
  • Strong understanding of Unix and Windows operating systems.

Advantageous Additional Skills

  • Familiarity with NetBackup, Veeam, Commvault, or Rubrik.
  • Understanding of VMware environments.
  • Knowledge of backup modules for Oracle, SAP, and SQL databases.
  • ITIL awareness.
  • Strong understanding of security principles and SOX frameworks.
