The Production Manager will oversee and coordinate the manufacturing operations of the conductor production plant to ensure efficient output, quality assurance, and adherence to production schedules. This role focuses on optimizing resources, maintaining high standards of safety and quality, and ensuring the achievement of Business Objectives.
Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities
Production Planning and Execution:
Develop and execute daily, weekly, and monthly production schedules to meet customer demands and delivery timelines.
Monitor and ensure production processes align with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and specifications.
Identify and address bottlenecks in production to maintain efficiency.
Process Optimization
Analyze current production processes and implement improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize costs.
Incorporate Lean, Six Sigma, or similar methodologies to improve manufacturing performance.
Ensure minimal downtime through proactive maintenance and effective resource allocation.
Quality Control
Ensure adherence to quality standards and customer specifications at every production stage.
Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team to investigate and resolve quality issues promptly.
Drive initiatives to reduce rejection rates and improve product consistency.
Team Management
Lead and supervise the production team, including operators, supervisors, and technicians.
Conduct training programs to upskill employees and ensure adherence to operational and safety standards.
Foster a positive and collaborative work environment to maximize productivity and morale.
Health, Safety, And Environment (HSE)
Enforce safety protocols to ensure a hazard-free work environment.
Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and promote sustainability initiatives.
Resource Management
Manage and allocate manpower, materials, and machinery effectively to achieve production goals.
Coordinate with procurement and inventory teams to ensure availability of raw materials and consumables.
Stakeholder Management
Collaborate with the Maintenance, Quality Assurance, and Supply Chain teams to ensure seamless operations.
Critical Success Factors - Essential
Excellent knowledge on fiber & OPGW process
Reduction in rejection rates and quality issues.
Equipment downtime and maintenance efficiency.
Adherence to production schedules.
Education Qualification
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Production) or equivalent.
Experience
10 – 12 years of experience in manufacturing operations, preferably in conductor or similar industries.
