Manager - NPD

Purpose of Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Laboratory Manager to lead our Conductor Type Testing Laboratory. Experience in testing, analysis, and implementation on conventional conductor (ACSR/ AAAC/AAC/ACAR/AAC) as well as HTLS / HPC conductor, such as AL59, ECO, ECO Max, ACSS, STACIR, GAP, and Composite technology. The ideal candidate will oversee all NABL processes, testing operations, ensure compliance with national and international standards (e.g., IEC, ASTM, IS, CIGRE, IEEE), and manage a team of technicians and engineers. This role is critical to maintaining the integrity, safety, and performance of electrical conductors used in power transmission and distribution.

Key Accountabilities / Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the conductor testing lab, including scheduling, resource allocation, and workflow optimization.
  • Ensure all tests (mechanical, electrical, thermal, environmental) are conducted per relevant standards and client specifications.
  • Lead internal audits, maintain documentation, and ensure compliance with ISO/IEC 17025, NABL guidelines and other regulatory frameworks.
  • Coordinate with R&D, production, and quality teams to support product development and troubleshooting.
  • Prepare budgets, manage procurement of lab consumables and equipment, and ensure cost-effective operations.
  • Timely ILC, PT, AMC & calibration of the equipment. Adhering to SOPs during testing & report preparation.
  • Train, mentor, upscale and evaluate laboratory staff.
  • Coordinate with sales, marketing, procurement, production, and quality teams for product design, hardware accessories, customer interaction/satisfaction, and feasibility analysis.
