Responsible for performing electrical maintenance and supporting machine operations to ensure equipment reliability and availability. This role involves working on industrial automation systems, PLC/HMI programming, and control systems while adhering to safety, quality, and operational standards. The position also contributes to continuous improvement initiatives and supports advanced manufacturing technologies with limited supervision.
Key Responsibilities
Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)
Follow all HSE policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Identify, correct, and immediately report safety hazards, incidents, and near misses.
Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and participate in required HSE training.
Promote a culture of safety, interdependence, and environmental responsibility.
Recognize environmental impacts of work and take actions to minimize negative effects.
Electrical Maintenance & Automation Controls
Perform electrical repairs and preventive, corrective, predictive, and emergency maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
Diagnose and debug complex machine control and automation issues; implement corrective actions using a data-driven approach.
Program, test, and maintain PLC and HMI systems (Siemens TIA Portal mandatory).
Implement, maintain, and support SCADA systems (preferably Ignition SCADA) with SQL database integration.
Integrate control systems with MES and manufacturing databases.
Install, configure, and troubleshoot sensors, actuators, scanners, vision systems, drives, robots, and cobots.
Work with safety devices including Safety PLCs, safety relays, safety scanners, and guarding systems (e.g., Pilz, Schmersal).
Ensure compliance with applicable electrical codes, standards, and Cummins specifications.
Quality & Equipment Reliability
Apply high standards of workmanship and craftsmanship in all maintenance activities.
Support equipment uptime and perform downtime and failure analysis.
Follow process documentation, quality procedures, and standard work.
Perform quality inspections and raise issues to minimize cost and quality risks.
Provide feedback and updates into the Preventive Maintenance system.
Continuous Improvement & Collaboration
Identify and reduce manufacturing constraints and support production goals.
Drive automation improvements, cost-reduction initiatives, and continuous improvement projects.
Participate actively in Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities.
Schedule maintenance activities around production requirements.
Communicate technical information effectively with peers, supervisors, and support teams.
Contribute to knowledge sharing, training, and technical development initiatives.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Diploma or degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or related field preferred.
Additional certifications may be required as per regulatory or compliance standards.
Skills & Competencies
Technical Skills
PLC/HMI programming (Siemens, Mitsubishi, Allen Bradley, Omron, FANUC)
SCADA systems (preferably Ignition) and MES integration
Electrical system troubleshooting and control panel design understanding
Industrial communication protocols (EtherNet/IP, Profibus, DeviceNet)
Experience with sensors, drives (e.g., Siemens G120), and safety systems (Pilz, Schmersal)
Knowledge of robotics, vision systems (Cognex, Keyence), and automation tools
Basic understanding of pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical systems

Experience
4–6 years of relevant experience in electrical maintenance, industrial automation, or manufacturing environments.
Hands-on experience with PLC programming, SCADA systems, and automation troubleshooting is required.

Exposure to SQL databases and advanced SCADA tools
Experience in high-volume or safety-critical manufacturing environments
Experience in automation projects and system integration
