Transmission Line Safety Engineeer

The Industrial Safety Officer/Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring that all construction, erection, and commissioning activities of the Transmission Line Project are executed in a safe, compliant, and incident-free manner. The position involves developing, implementing, and maintaining a comprehensive Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) management system tailored to the unique risks of transmission line work — such as working at heights, live-line proximity, lifting operations, and dispersed work fronts spread across long corridors of alignment.

The incumbent acts as the primary custodian of safety across all project phases — from site mobilization, route survey, foundation works, tower erection, conductor stringing, and termination at substations, up to final energization. He/she ensures strict adherence to statutory regulations, client HSE requirements, and company standards, while proactively driving a “Zero Harm” culture across all levels of the workforce including subcontractors and local stakeholders.

A key part of the role is risk anticipation and mitigation — through systematic hazard identification, job safety analysis, and preventive measures before the commencement of each activity. The Safety Officer/Manager also ensures effective training, supervision, and motivation of site teams, fostering ownership of safety at every level.

The role requires continuous coordination with site engineers, project managers, client representatives, and local authorities to ensure that safety is fully integrated into planning, execution, and monitoring. The incumbent must also maintain robust documentation, conduct inspections and audits, investigate incidents, and ensure the implementation of corrective and preventive actions.

Ultimately, the Industrial Safety professional serves as a key enabler of operational excellence, ensuring that the project achieves its targets of timely completion, regulatory compliance, and uncompromised safety performance.
