Overview
Join a new engineering team in Noida building and operating tooling that helps Microsoft’s Consumer Commerce engineering teams execute and evidence SOX compliance controls across existing and future systems. You will take ownership of critical components within existing internal systems/tools while also driving new capabilities as requirements evolve. In this role, you will lead designs, solve ambiguous engineering problems end-to-end, and deliver secure and reliable services with strong operational excellence. You will partner closely with engineering, compliance, and audit stakeholders to ensure outputs are auditor-ready. Your work will improve transparency, accountability, and the day-to-day experience of teams maintaining compliant systems.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and operate core services, APIs, and workflows that support SOX control execution and evidence generation.
- Lead technical designs and participate in architecture reviews to ensure solutions are secure, reliable, and compliant by design.
- Take ownership of existing internal systems/tools, improving reliability, performance, monitoring, and auditing/reporting capabilities.
- Drive feature development from concept to production with minimal supervision, including operational readiness and safe rollout plans.
- Build security monitoring, auditing, and reporting capabilities that enable transparency and continuous compliance.
- Implement robust control mechanisms aligned to access/change/operations controls while meeting regulatory, security, privacy, and SOX requirements.
- Write high-quality, maintainable, and well-tested code; raise engineering best practices through code reviews, design reviews, and AI adoption.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of learning and engineering excellence.
- Participate in on-call rotations and incident response, driving blameless learnings and reliability improvements.
- Partner with engineering, compliance, and audit stakeholders to clarify requirements and deliver auditor-ready artifacts.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, and 7+ years of hands-on software development experience.
- Strong coding and debugging skills in one or more of: C#, Java, JavaScript, Python, and/or React.
- Experience designing, building, debugging, and operating distributed systems with a focus on reliability, security, and privacy.
- Experience with cloud-native development and service operations, including monitoring and incident response.
- Experience with data platforms and services such as Synapse, Azure Data Explorer (ADX), Cosmos DB, and/or SQL.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including successful completion of the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire and every two years thereafter.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building compliance-driven solutions that meet SOX, regulatory, security, and privacy requirements.
- Experience building auditing/reporting pipelines and producing evidence artifacts suitable for audit review.
- Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and influence engineering best practices across a team.
- Experience using data-driven insights and/or AI/ML approaches to strengthen governance workflows.
