India's labour law landscape is undergoing its most significant transformation in decades. The consolidation of over 40 central statutes into four Labour Codes is reshaping how enterprises manage workforce compliance — and GE Vernova needs a senior leader who can build the frameworks to get it right.
As the Labour Compliance Leader, you will own enterprise-wide implementation of the four Labour Codes across a complex, multi-site organization spanning corporate offices, manufacturing plants, and project sites across India. You will design the governance infrastructure, lead the audits, shape the policies, and be the authoritative voice that helps business and HR leaders navigate India's evolving statutory landscape with confidence.
This is a high-impact senior role for someone who brings deep expertise, sound judgment, and the ability to influence across all levels of the organization.
Job Description
What You'll Do
Lead enterprise Labour Code implementation — own compliance readiness across all business units, establish governance controls and monitoring frameworks, drive closure of implementation gaps through structured action plans, and advance the digitization of labour compliance processes.
Own the compliance calendar and audit function — develop and manage the statutory filings, returns, renewals, and amendment schedule; lead labour audits; coordinate with labour inspectors, auditors, and government authorities; and ensure timely resolution of audit findings.
Govern contractor and vendor compliance — oversee the statutory compliance of manpower contractors and vendors across factories and project sites, conduct periodic audits, and enforce corrective actions where required.
Support labour and employee relations — liaise with Office Labour Governance, People Operations, Project Site Managers, and Factory Labour Relations teams; support resolution of labour disputes and inspections; and represent the organization in labour hearings, conciliation proceedings, and government inspections.
Design and standardize compliance policy — develop labour compliance Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), policies, and frameworks; standardize processes across all operating environments; and serve as a subject matter expert for leadership decision-making on compliance matters.
Enable capability across the organization — conduct regular training for HR professionals, site leaders, factory managers, and contractors on applicable labour laws, new Labour Codes, and compliance obligations.
