Job Description

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on battery health diagnostics, charge/discharge cycles, and refurbishment methodologies.
  • Perform teardown, analysis, and testing of various battery types (e.g., Li-ion, NiMH, LiFePO4) recovered from E-waste.
  • Assist in developing SOPs for battery testing, sorting, and reuse/refurbishment processes.
  • Work closely with Quality, Production, and Safety teams to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Design and improve jigs, test rigs, and basic electronics setups for evaluating battery cells and packs.
  • Analyze test data to determine battery state-of-health (SOH), internal resistance, capacity retention, etc.
  • Identify failure modes and root causes in faulty battery cells or packs; suggest corrective actions.
  • Stay up-to-date with battery technologies, standards (e.g., UN 38.3, IEC), and best practices in safe battery handling.
  • Support pilot projects for second-life battery applications (e.g., energy storage systems, low-power devices).
  • Document technical findings, process improvements, and experimental data for knowledge sharing and audits.

Education Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related discipline.
  • Diploma holders with exceptional hands-on experience and safety training in battery handling may also be considered.

Experience Required

  • 2–5 years of experience in battery testing, battery pack assembly/disassembly, or electronics R&D.
  • Prior experience in battery recycling, battery manufacturing, or EV battery diagnostics is preferred.
  • Freshers with internship or academic project experience in battery technologies may be considered for trainee positions.

Skills & Competencies

  • Sound knowledge of battery chemistries and electrochemical principles.
  • Hands-on experience with battery testing tools (battery analyzers, multimeters, BMS testers, etc.).
  • Familiarity with data logging tools and basic electronics lab equipment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of safety standards and procedures in battery handling and ESD environments.
  • Ability to document processes and communicate findings effectively.
  • Innovative mindset with a focus on sustainability and process optimization.
  • Experience in AutoCAD Software for battery Design and Development - Must and important
