Requirements

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Azure SQL & MS SQL Database Administrator (DBA) to manage, maintain, and optimize our database environments. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Microsoft SQL Server, Azure SQL, performance tuning, high availability, security, and automation.

Qualifications:

4+ years of experience in MS SQL Server and Azure SQL database administration.

Strong expertise in SQL Server 2016/2019/2022, Azure SQL Database, and Managed Instances.

Experience with performance tuning, indexing, and execution plan analysis.

Hands-on experience with high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions.

Proficiency in T-SQL scripting, PowerShell automation, and Azure CLI.

Familiarity with DevOps tools like Azure DevOps, Git, and CI/CD pipelines for databases.

Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Job responsibilities

Database Administration & Maintenance:

Install, configure, and maintain MS SQL Server and Azure SQL databases.

Perform regular database monitoring, health checks, and capacity planning.

Ensure high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) strategies are in place.

Security & Compliance:

Implement database security policies, user access controls, and role-based authentication.

Ensure compliance with GDPR, HIPAA, and other regulatory standards.

Monitor database audit logs for security breaches or unauthorized access.

Backup & Recovery:

Develop and test backup and recovery strategies using Full, Differential, and Transaction Log backups.

Automate backup scheduling and test restore procedures.

Automation & Scripting:

Automate DBA tasks using PowerShell or any programming language

Implement CI/CD pipelines for database deployments.

Collaboration & Documentation:

Work with application developers to optimize database performance.

Maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations and processes.

Cloud Database Management (Azure SQL):

Deploy and manage Azure SQL Database, Managed Instances, and SQL Server on Azure VMs.

Configure Azure SQL geo-replication, failover groups, and backup strategies.

Implement Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Automation for proactive issue detection.
