About The Role

We are looking for a Frontend Engineer who is passionate about building fast, scalable, and maintainable eCommerce experiences using core web technologies.

This role is not focused on React, Next.js, or SPA frameworks.

You will work deeply with HTML, CSS, SCSS, Vanilla JavaScript, class-based architecture.

You’ll be building real product experiences: collection systems, filters, navigation, PDP flows, CRO-driven components, and performance-critical UI.

What You Will Do

• Build and maintain custom web components using HTML, SCSS, and Vanilla JavaScript
• Architect and develop component-driven UI systems without heavy JS frameworks
• Convert Figma designs into high-quality, production-ready storefronts
• Write clean, modular, class-based JavaScript for UI behavior and business logic
• Own theme performance: Core Web Vitals, load strategy, asset optimization, and DOM efficiency
• Debug complex frontend issues across browsers and devices
• Actively contribute to improving frontend standards, architecture, and best practices
  
  

What We Are Specifically Looking For

This role is ideal for someone who identifies as a Frontend Web Developer first, and a Shopify specialist second.

• You should be genuinely strong in:
• DOM, events, browser behavior, performance, and rendering
• CSS architecture, responsive systems, and layout engineering
• JavaScript fundamentals and structured programming
  
  

Required Technical Skills

Core (Must-Have)

• Strong experience with:
• HTML5 (semantic, accessible markup)
• CSS3 / SCSS (architecture, responsiveness, performance)
• Vanilla JavaScript (ES6+, class-based design, modular code)
• Experience with:
• Responsive and mobile-first development
• Cross-browser debugging
• Git-based workflows
• Performance optimization (Core Web Vitals)
  
  

Good to Have (Strong Plus)

• AJAX, Fetch API
• CRO or high-traffic storefront optimization experience
• Understanding of accessibility and SEO from a frontend perspective
  
  

Not a Fit If

• Your primary experience is only Shopify admin/app setup
• You mainly work in React / Next / Vue and avoid DOM-level engineering
• You are not comfortable building UI without frameworks
  
  

Experience & Education

• 1–4 years of hands-on frontend web development
• Real experience building production storefronts or web products
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science / IT or related field (preferred)
