Pentair’s Global Engineering Center (GEC) is seeking a dynamic and experienced QA Manager to lead our India-based QA team and drive release management across multiple smart product lines. This role blends hands-on leadership with strategic coordination, ensuring high-quality deliverables and seamless alignment with global engineering and product teams. You’ll be responsible for mentoring QA engineers, managing release readiness, and collaborating closely with US-based stakeholders to uphold Pentair’s quality standards and Agile delivery rhythm. You Will
Lead and mentor a team of QA engineers focused on IoT, cloud, app, device testing and UAT execution.
Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the GEC QA team.
Support career development, training, and performance feedback for team members.
Own release planning, coordination, and execution for firmware, mobile apps, and cloud services.
Ensure timely and high-quality releases through structured regression cycles and stakeholder alignment.
Maintain release dashboards, readiness checklists, and communication plans across time zones.
Collaborate with US-based QA leads, Product Owners, and Engineering to align release milestones.
Define and implement QA processes tailored to GEC deliverables and global standards.
Oversee test planning, execution, and defect management across multiple product lines.
Ensure traceability of requirements through test cases and validation artifacts.
Drive continuous improvement in test coverage, automation, and defect prevention.
Participate in PI planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives as a QA representative.
Align GEC QA resources to support sprint commitments and release goals.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams across geographies to resolve quality challenges.
Define and evolve QA strategy for firmware, hardware integration, and end-to-end regression validation.
Champion quality ownership across Agile teams, driving test coverage and release confidence.
Collaborate with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, and Engineering to align QA efforts with PI objectives.
Provide quality metrics and dashboards to support planning and decision-making.
Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time to other Pentair sites and customer locations. Travel will be both domestic and international.
Key Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably in Computer Science, Electronics, or related field.
10+ years of experience in QA roles, with at least 2+ years in a leadership or managerial capacity.
Strong understanding of QA methodologies, test planning, and defect lifecycle management
Experience with release management and Agile delivery in a global engineering setup.
Familiarity with test management tools (Jira, Zephyr, Confluence) and CI/CD pipelines.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills across time zones
ISTQB or equivalent QA certification is a plus.
Preferred Skills
Experience in IoT, embedded systems, or cloud/mobile QA domains.
Exposure to automation tools (Selenium, Appium, Postman, Katalon).
Understanding of firmware testing and hardware-in-the-loop setups.
