Role Summary

  • The appointed candidate will be supporting the successful Traffic Signals teams which are working on a wide variety of high-profile projects across the UK and internationally. They will be involved in the development and application of traffic signals, junction design and analysis and providing support services for the submission of Signals schemes.


Responsibilities

  • An enthusiastic individual with few years of CAD and Design experience in Highways, Parking, Auto track etc.
  • Proven understanding of traffic signal principles;
  • Proficient with CAD to produce Designs;
  • Appreciation of FAT and SAT;
  • MOVA/SCOOT Validation would be beneficial;
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft office software;
  • Provide technical design input to team members preparing traffic signal design documentation;
  • Prepare 2500 documentation and carry out MOVA / UTC design work;
  • Check / review traffic signal design documentation carried out by junior members of the teams;
  • Good experience working with CAD and Key SIGNALS;
  • Good understanding of doing capacity modelling using LinSig
  • Quality checks of data and drawing outputs;
  • Take ownership of tasks assigned and search for solutions where required;
  • Zeal to grow self and dedication towards working independently/ with minimal guidance where required;
  • Ensure that Health & Safety is embedded into all work practices in line with company policies;
  • Clear communication (verbal and written) with colleagues in India and the UK on all matters – project related technical communication and day-to-day matters;
  • Work within project constraints; such as time, budget and resource; and
  • Attend and contribute in team and project meetings;
  • Complete accurate timesheets by set deadline.


Qualifications

Mandatory Skills

Understanding of software’s theories and limitations;

Ability to work as part of a team and to work under guidance;

An understanding of the necessity to work within prescribed timeline and budget constraints;

Good understanding MS Office applications with focus on Word and Excel;

Good communications skills;

Prepare 2500 documentation and carry out MOVA / UTC design work;

Experience in supporting Signals Specifications.;

Experience of AutoCAD;

Experience in Key SIGNALS;

Desired Skills

Understanding of Transport and General principles;

Previous Highways Design related experience;

Previous experience using LinSig software.

Working towards a recognised professional qualification. I.e. (ICE, CIHT etc.)
