Produces coordinated construction drawings, models, redlines, and as-builts under the direction of the VP of Engineering & Design, ensuring the field has accurate, buildable documentation.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain AutoCAD and / or Revit deliverables for low-voltage and fiber scope, including plans, elevations, details, schedules, sheets, and revision-controlled issue sets.
Model cabinet layouts, rack elevations, ladder rack and containment routing, underfloor and overhead pathways, and MDA, IDA, HDA, and EDA relationships in the data hall.
Produce accurate fiber port-mapping schedules, cabinet naming conventions, labeling references, splice and cassette schedules, and drawing indexes that align to field execution and turnover requirements.
Incorporate engineering markups, field redlines, survey input, and RFI responses into construction updates and final as-builts with strict version control.
Support coordination with electrical, mechanical, structural, and construction teams by participating in clash review, space validation, and constructability updates.
Generate material takeoff support, drawing extracts, and installation views that help field teams execute efficiently and consistently.
Maintain document quality by checking layer standards, sheet references, annotation consistency, and alignment between model content and issued scope.
Required Skills And Knowledge
Diploma or bachelor's degree in Drafting, Civil, Architectural, Electrical Design, or related discipline.
Fluent in AutoCAD and Revit with the ability to produce clean construction documents and disciplined BIM / model revisions in a fast-moving project environment.
Working knowledge of data center layouts, structured cabling pathways and spaces, rack and cabinet planning, and containment routing for low-voltage and fiber systems.
Ability to model rack elevations, cabinet layouts, and high-density fiber administration details accurately enough to support installation, labeling, and as-built turnover.
Strong attention to detail in redline capture, as-built production, sheet management, and document control.
Comfort working directly with engineering, project management, and field leaders to convert design intent and site changes into buildable documentation.
Certifications / Training
Preferred: BICSI ITS, DCDC, or equivalent structured cabling / data center design credential.
Preferred: Autodesk certification or equivalent advanced training in Revit and AutoCAD production workflows.
