Technical Lead- RandD

About the Role 

We are looking for a highly skilled Software Analyst to join our Research & Development team. This is a hands-on technical leadership role responsible for designing, building, and evolving the backend platform powering our next-generation casino gaming solutions. 

As a Software Analyst, you will provide technical direction to the engineering team, drive architectural decisions, mentor developers, and work closely with Product, QA, DevOps, Hardware, and Integration teams to deliver scalable, reliable, and high-performance software. You will play a key role in transforming product concepts into robust enterprise solutions while ensuring engineering excellence across the platform. 

Key Responsibilities 

Technical Leadership 

• Lead the technical design, architecture, and development of backend software solutions across a distributed, multi-tier ecosystem. 

• Drive engineering best practices, coding standards, design reviews, and technical governance. 

• Translate business requirements, product concepts, and high-level ideas into scalable, maintainable software architectures. 

• Own technical decision-making and guide the team through architectural trade-offs. 

• Mentor and coach software engineers through design discussions, code reviews, and technical problem-solving. 

Software Development 

• Design and develop enterprise-grade backend services using Java, Spring Boot, and event-driven architectures. 

• Build scalable REST APIs, microservices, and distributed applications. 

• Design and implement asynchronous messaging solutions using Apache Kafka. 

• Design efficient database schemas and optimize SQL/PL-SQL queries for high-volume transactional systems. 

• Ensure software is built with performance, reliability, scalability, and maintainability as key principles. 

Architecture & Platform Engineering 

• Design both high-level and low-level application architectures. 

• Contribute to the evolution of the R&D technology platform and software frameworks. 

• Work with reverse proxies, API gateways, load balancers, and distributed deployment architectures. 

• Design and implement application-side and centralized caching strategies. 

• Collaborate with DevOps teams on deployment automation, observability, and production readiness. 

Production Engineering & Performance 

• Lead troubleshooting of complex production issues and perform root cause analysis. 

• Analyze CPU, memory, heap dumps, thread dumps, GC behavior, application logs. 

• Drive application performance tuning and system optimization. 

• Ensure high availability and reliability across backend services. 

Cross-functional Collaboration 

• Work closely with Product Management, QA, Hardware Engineering, DevOps. 

• Support integration with external systems including casino management systems, table hardware, payment systems, and third-party services. 

• Participate in Agile planning, technical estimation, and release planning activities. 

Required Skills & Experience 

Core Technical Skills 

• 10+ years of experience in enterprise software development, with demonstrated experience leading technical initiatives or mentoring engineering teams. 

• Expert-level proficiency in Java/J2EE. 

• Strong hands-on experience with Spring Boot and Spring ecosystem. 

• Deep understanding of Object-Oriented Design, SOLID principles, and software design patterns. 

• Strong experience designing distributed systems and multi-tier enterprise applications. 

• Experience building scalable microservices and RESTful APIs. 

Messaging & Integration 

• Strong experience with Apache Kafka or similar event-streaming platforms. 

• Understanding of asynchronous communication patterns and event-driven architecture. 

Database 

• Strong expertise in SQL/PL-SQL and relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, etc.). 

• Experience in query optimization, indexing, transaction management, and performance tuning. 

System Engineering 

• Strong Linux experience, including Shell scripting. 

• Hands-on experience with: 

• Heap dump and thread dump analysis 

• JVM tuning and garbage collection analysis 

• CPU and memory profiling 

• Application log analysis 

• Linux performance tools (SAR, top, vmstat, iostat) 

Platform & Infrastructure 

• Experience with: 

• Nginx or similar reverse proxies 

• API Gateways 

• Load Balancers 

• Distributed caching (e.g. Redis) 

• CI/CD pipelines 

• Git and Maven/Gradle 

Good to Have 

• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes. 

• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP). 

• Experience with monitoring and observability tools (Grafana, Prometheus, ELK, Splunk, etc.). 

• Knowledge of secure software development practices. 

• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment. 

• Experience in gaming, casino technology, embedded systems, or real-time transaction processing.
