Job Description

The Senior Facilities Manager position is a critical role responsible for the oversight and management of building systems, infrastructure, and maintenance operations. This role involves strategic and operational responsibility for ensuring that facilities meet the needs of both the organization and its employees while maintaining cost efficiency and compliance with all relevant regulations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing complex facilities and leading a team of facilities management professionals. This role requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills, strong leadership abilities, and a proactive approach to anticipating and resolving issues. The Senior Facilities Manager will collaborate with various departments and external vendors to deliver top-tier facility services and will be instrumental in planning and executing strategic initiatives to enhance operational performance and sustainability.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic plans for effective and efficient facilities management.
  • Oversee the maintenance and operation of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing.
  • Lead and manage a team of facilities personnel, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations and standards.
  • Develop and manage the facilities budget, ensuring cost-effective operations and capital projects.
  • Collaborate with department heads to ensure facilities meet organizational needs and objectives.
  • Manage vendor relationships and service contracts to ensure quality and cost effectiveness of services.
  • Coordinate space planning and utilization to maximize operational efficiency within facilities.
  • Implement sustainability initiatives to improve energy usage and reduce the environmental footprint.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities to ensure operational efficiency and safety compliance.
  • Prepare and present reports on facilities operations, budget adherence, and future needs assessments.
  • Handle emergency situations, overseeing safety procedures and communication to stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
  • At least 8 years of experience in facilities management, with 3 years in a senior role.
  • Proven leadership skills with experience managing a diverse facilities management team.
  • Excellent understanding of building systems, operations, and maintenance processes.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant safety standards and compliance requirements.
  • Exceptional project management skills and the ability to oversee multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to develop and manage budgets effectively.
