About the role

As our Sales Director | India, you’ll play a key role in establishing and expanding Whalebone’s presence in one of the world’s fastest-growing telecommunications markets.

Based in New Delhi, you’ll be responsible for building strategic relationships with telecom operators and CSPs, opening new accounts, identifying business opportunities, and driving deals from the first conversation through to long-term partnerships.

You’ll work directly with senior and C-level decision-makers, helping them understand the value of Whalebone Aura, mass-market cybersecurity protection that can be delivered at the network level, without requiring subscribers to install anything on their devices.

What you’ll do

• Build and grow strategic relationships with telecom operators and CSPs across India
• Open new accounts and identify new business and expansion opportunities within existing accounts
• Own the sales process end-to-end, from prospecting and relationship building to negotiation and closing
• Build relationships with and negotiate directly with C-level and senior stakeholders
• Demonstrate the business and customer value of Whalebone Aura and its potential to create additional revenue opportunities for telecom partners
• Develop compelling business cases, messaging, and content tailored to the needs of Indian telcos
• Maintain a strong sales pipeline using CRM tools such as HubSpot or Salesforce, ensuring accurate forecasting and reporting
• Work closely with Product Experience Management, Go To Market & Growth, Customer Success Management, Technical Consulting, and Marketing to support partner enablement and commercial activities
• Bring customer and market feedback to internal teams and contribute to product improvements
• Represent Whalebone at industry events, conferences, trade shows, and partner workshops
• Support marketing campaigns and content creation focused on the Indian telecom market
• Regularly travel across India and internationally to meet customers, develop relationships, and close deals

What we’re looking for

• 5+ years of experience in sales, business development, partner management, or telco product/channel management within the telecommunications industry
• A strong personal network within Indian telecom operators, particularly across product, commercial, and marketing teams
• Proven experience working with senior and C-level stakeholders and navigating complex, multi-stakeholder buying processes
• Strong negotiation, presentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to clearly articulate business value
• Fluent English; Hindi is a strong advantage
• Strong understanding of the Indian telecommunications market, its business models, and key market dynamics
• A proactive, entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to create opportunities, take ownership, and operate independently
• Based in New Delhi and willing to travel regularly across India and internationally

It would be a plus if you have

• Experience selling B2B technology, SaaS, cybersecurity, networking, or telecom solutions
• Experience with subscriber-based products, digital services, or telco revenue models
• Existing relationships with key decision-makers in major Indian telecom operators
• Experience working with CRM platforms such as HubSpot or Salesforce
• A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Telecommunications, or a related field
• Experience working in a fast-growing international technology company
