Job Description

We are seeking a highly competent and diligent Safety Officer to join our dynamic team and ensure a safe working environment for all employees. As a Safety Officer, you will play a crucial role in enforcing health and safety guidelines and policies, conducting risk assessments, and implementing safety measures to minimize accidents and incidents. Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular inspections to identify safety hazards and enforce corrective actions.
  • Develop and implement safety policies, protocols, and procedures within the workplace.
  • Conduct risk assessments and evaluate potential hazards and control measures.
  • Organize safety training sessions that educate employees on safety procedures and protocols.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with occupational health and safety guidelines and regulations.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses and document findings and corrective actions.
  • Liaise with statutory and regulatory bodies to resolve health and safety issues effectively.
  • Maintain records of safety-related incidents and provide reports as necessary to management.
  • Coordinate emergency procedures, including evacuations and drills, to ensure readiness.
  • Recommend safety improvements based on data, trends, and risk assessments carried out.
  • Collaborate with management to develop strategies addressing safety improvement areas.
  • Stay updated with legislation and implement changes to ensure safety compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in occupational health and safety, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Safety Officer or similar role in safety management.
  • In-depth knowledge of safety regulations and best practices within the industry.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify hazards and implement solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills to deliver safety instructions and provide training.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and influence others to adhere to safety standards.
  • Certification in Occupational Health and Safety is highly preferred.
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain meticulous records and reports.
