Job Description

We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Quantity Surveyor to join our construction team. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in managing all aspects of the contractual and financial side of our construction projects. This includes efficiently controlling costs, preparing contracts, and measuring project progress for accuracy. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will work closely with architects, contractors, and project managers to ensure projects are completed within approved budgets and timelines. Your expertise in cost management and risk mitigation will be vital in optimizing project budgets and maximizing company profitability while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.


Responsibilities

  • Prepare and manage the project's budget and costs throughout its lifecycle.
  • Evaluate and negotiate contracts with vendors and contractors to save costs.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor project progress and verify on-field productivity.
  • Review architectural and engineering plans to identify and quantify project needs.
  • Prepare tender documents, contracts, budgets, bills of quantities, and other documentation.
  • Measure and value the work done on site, documenting progress accurately.
  • Manage and resolve any discrepancies in the project's costs and financial accounts.
  • Lead cost variation and adjustment negotiations with contractors and suppliers.
  • Provide detailed status reports on project performance and budget adherence.
  • Perform risk analysis to foresee potential financial pitfalls during the project.
  • Advise on legal or procurement-related issues that could impact project timelines.
  • Liaise regularly with clients, project managers, and stakeholders to ensure project alignment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of three years of proven experience in quantity surveying or similar roles.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills for effective budget management.
  • Proficiency in industry-standard software such as AutoCAD, MS Project, and Excel.
  • Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills for stakeholder management.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy and compliance.
