Job Description

The Product Merchandiser plays a pivotal role in the retail and product industries, responsible for the presentation, stocking, and promotion of a company's products. This position is crucial in ensuring that products are appealing and easy to find when customers visit a store or browse online. The Product Merchandiser works closely with store managers and buyers to execute merchandising plans that align with sales targets, brand vision, and consumer demand. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement visual merchandising plans to enhance product visibility and sales.
  • Analyze sales and market trends to determine product positioning strategies.
  • Work closely with store managers to ensure proper product presentation and inventory levels.
  • Coordinate with the buying team to choose the best products for display and promotion.
  • Monitor and report on sales performance and adjust merchandising tactics as needed.
  • Maintain and update displays ensuring they are clean, presentable, and stocked at all times.
  • Train and guide store staff on effective merchandising techniques and product knowledge.
  • Stay updated with industry trends to keep merchandising strategies relevant and competitive.
  • Establish strong relationships with vendors and suppliers for optimal product availability.
  • Lead seasonal product changeovers and promotional displays ahead of deadlines.
  • Ensure compliance with all operational policies and procedures to maintain merchandising standards.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to align merchandising efforts with promotional campaigns.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in retail merchandising or similar role within the retail industry.
  • Strong visual and spatial skills to create appealing product displays.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective team collaboration.
  • Ability to analyze sales data and market trends for informed decision-making.
  • Detail-oriented mindset to maintain high standards of product presentation.
  • Capacity to handle and prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
