Job Description

As a Pharmacist, you'll play an essential role in the healthcare system by ensuring patients receive the right medication and understand their prescriptions. Your expertise will guide patients in managing their health, prevent drug interactions, and contribute to the effectiveness of the healthcare team. Responsibilities

  • Review and interpret prescriptions from physicians and other healthcare professionals for accuracy.
  • Dispense prescribed medications accurately and efficiently to patients and healthcare providers.
  • Provide clear and professional counsel to patients regarding medication regimens and potential side effects.
  • Maintain comprehensive records for all dispensed medications according to regulatory requirements.
  • Evaluate patients' medical histories to prevent drug interactions and contraindications.
  • Ensure the pharmacy complies with all state and federal regulatory guidelines and protocols.
  • Oversee the daily management and operation of the pharmacy, including inventory control.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to optimize patient care and therapeutic outcomes.
  • Stay informed on new pharmaceutical products, legislation, and ethics in the industry.
  • Train and supervise pharmacy technicians and other staff in dispensing and customer service.
  • Facilitate communication between patients, physicians, and insurance companies to resolve issues.
  • Conduct health and wellness screenings and provide patient consultations as needed.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited institution required.
  • Pharmacist license is mandatory.
  • Minimum of two years practicing as a licensed pharmacist in a community setting.
  • Strong understanding of pharmacy law, industry guidelines, and ethical standards.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively counsel and interact with patients and staff.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in dispensing prescriptions and maintaining records.
  • Proficient in pharmacy software systems and Microsoft Office suite for documentation.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including rotating weekends and holidays, as needed.
