Responsibilities

• Dispense prescription medications accurately and in compliance with legal requirements.
• Provide expert advice on the use, effects, and interactions of medications.
• Review patient records to ensure proper medication administration and dosage.
• Maintain accurate records of patient prescriptions and medication history.
• Assess and review prescriptions for potential drug interactions or contraindications.
• Provide immunization services and administer vaccinations as required.
• Counsel patients on proper medication usage and potential side effects.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to design appropriate drug therapy plans.
• Supervise and mentor pharmacy technicians in delivering quality care services.
• Ensure pharmacy compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations.
• Participate in continuous education to remain updated on pharmaceutical advancements.
• Manage inventory and order medications and supplies as necessary.

Requirements

• Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited college.
• Valid pharmacist license in the state of employment.
• Strong knowledge of pharmacology, drug interactions, and medication therapy.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients and staff.
• Attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy in dispensing medications.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a healthcare team.
• Familiarity with pharmacy management software and electronic medical records.
