Job Description

The role of an HR Operations, Compensation & Benefits Specialist is pivotal within any organization, functioning as a cornerstone in establishment and maintenance of a productive work environment. This position focuses on ensuring the smooth operation of payroll processes, maintaining equitable and competitive compensation structures, as well as managing employee benefits programs effectively. The specialist is responsible for balancing the financial goals of the company with the needs of its employees, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, and aligning compensation and benefits initiatives with the organization’s strategic objectives. In addition to supporting HR operations and initiatives, the specialist also plays a key role in analyzing workforce data, developing insights for decision-making, and helping the organization to attract and retain the best talent. This position is ideal for someone who is analytical, detail-oriented, and proactive in their approach to designing and implementing scalable HR systems and processes.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee accurate and timely payroll processing and related reconciliation activities.
  • Develop and manage competitive compensation plans aligned with industry benchmarks.
  • Administer employee benefits programs, ensuring optimal cost-effectiveness and coverage.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations regarding employee compensation.
  • Conduct job evaluations and analysis for the development of salary structures.
  • Collaborate with HR and management to assess and address pay inequities or discrepancies.
  • Assist in the design and implementation of employee performance review programs.
  • Prepare and present compensation and benefits reports and analyses to leadership.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors related to compensation and benefits services.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees on compensation and benefits inquiries.
  • Support budgeting processes by providing required compensation data and analysis.
  • Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in compensation and benefits practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or related field required.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in HR operations, compensation, and benefits management.
  • Strong knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements related to compensation and benefits.
  • Proficiency in HRIS software and Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially and professionally.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with staff at all levels.
