Job Description

The Housekeeping Supervisor position is a pivotal role within any hospitality establishment, responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation. The supervisor will oversee a team of housekeeping staff, ensuring efficient operation in both guest and public areas. Planning and managing day-to-day housekeeping activities, including staffing, training, and performance evaluations, are crucial to this role. The ideal candidate will possess a keen eye for detail, strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage resources and schedules effectively. Working closely with the Operations Manager, the supervisor will ensure that all housekeeping activities are conducted according to the respective standards and regulations, nurturing a spotless environment that enhances the guest experience and meets the company’s quality standards.


Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily operations of the housekeeping department efficiently.
  • Ensure all housekeeping staff adhere to safety and cleanliness standards consistently.
  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure cleanliness meets established standards.
  • Manage staff schedules to maximize productivity and streamline workflow.
  • Coordinate with the front desk and maintenance departments for seamless operations.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate staff to enhance performance and professional growth.
  • Address guest complaints and requests efficiently to ensure satisfaction.
  • Maintain an inventory of cleaning supplies and ensure optimal stocking levels.
  • Implement cost-effective measures to increase departmental efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Prepare and analyze housekeeping reports for management and operational insights.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the department.
  • Assist in budget preparation and monitoring for the housekeeping department.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; further education preferred.
  • Proven experience in a housekeeping supervisory role or similar position.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain high cleaning standards.
  • Solid understanding of housekeeping procedures and regulations within the industry.
  • Outstanding communication and organizational skills are essential for success.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays if required.
