Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and capable Dental Assistant to join our growing dental practice. The ideal candidate will provide invaluable support to our dentist and contribute to the smooth operation of our clinic. Responsibilities of a dental assistant include assisting the dentist during procedures to ensure the patient's comfort, performing office and laboratory tasks, and maintaining a clean environment in the dental practice. An exceptional Dental Assistant will possess a strong understanding of dental instruments and their uses, excellent interpersonal skills to ensure optimal patient relationships, and the ability to maintain patient confidentiality at all times. Responsibilities

  • Assist dentist during dental procedures to provide efficient and effective service.
  • Prepare examination and surgical rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring readiness.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and maintaining patient records.
  • Conduct preliminary examination procedures including taking and developing dental radiographs.
  • Ensure patients are comfortable and informed throughout their treatment with empathetic communication.
  • Follow infection control protocols to ensure safety and cleanliness in clinical settings.
  • Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and postoperative care instructions.
  • Maintain inventory of dental supplies and order replacements when necessary.
  • Assist in monitoring and improving patient flow in the dental office.
  • Manage patient inquiries and effectively communicate treatment plans and options.
  • Collaborate with the dental team to support the development of effective treatment plans.
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and report issues promptly to minimize disruptions.

Requirements

  • Possess a high school diploma and dental assistant certification from an accredited program.
  • Demonstrable experience working as a dental assistant in a clinical environment is preferred.
  • Proficient understanding of dental instruments, their use, and post-procedure maintenance.
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills to manage diverse dental office activities.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients and dental team members.
  • Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations at all times.
  • Willingness to stay updated on the latest dental technology and practices through continuing education.
