Job Description

The Construction Manager - MEP plays a critical role in overseeing all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing aspects of construction projects. This position is pivotal in ensuring that these vital systems are designed, installed, and maintained to meet both project specifications and regulatory standards. The Construction Manager - MEP must coordinate with various stakeholders, including architects, engineers, subcontractors, and clients, to deliver high-quality MEP systems on time and within budget. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, project management skills, and leadership abilities to effectively manage the complexities of MEP systems. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a robust understanding of construction processes and a commitment to safety, quality, and efficiency.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee the planning and execution of all mechanical, electrical, and plumbing projects.
  • Collaborate with architects and engineers to define project scope and requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and codes throughout projects.
  • Develop detailed project plans, including timelines and budgets, for MEP works.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure efficient and effective project delivery.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress and quality of MEP installations.
  • Resolve any technical or operational issues arising during project execution.
  • Lead project meetings with team members and stakeholders to assess progress.
  • Prepare and present reports on project status, risks, and performance metrics.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols and practices on construction sites.
  • Review and approve technical specifications, design documents, and shop drawings.
  • Manage procurement processes for materials and equipment related to MEP systems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or related field is required.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in managing MEP projects in construction sector.
  • Proven track record of delivering MEP projects on time and within budget.
  • In-depth knowledge of regulatory standards, codes, and practices in MEP fields.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and team management skills are essential.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to handle complex technical issues.
  • Proficiency in project management software and Microsoft Office Suite necessary.
