A leading player in the renewable energy sector focused on solar PV development and deployment across utility-scale, commercial & industrial (C&I), and rooftop segments in India. The organisation delivers end-to-end project solutions including feasibility, financing, EPC coordination, and commissioning to corporate, developer, and DISCOM customers. We are hiring an on-site sales leader to drive project acquisitions, tender wins, and strategic partnerships across India.
Role: Business Development Manager - Solar Energy (On-site, India)
Role & Responsibilities
Own end-to-end business development for solar projects (rooftop, C&I, utility): prospect, qualify, and close clients across assigned territories.
Lead tendering and bid responses: coordinate technical inputs, prepare commercial proposals, and negotiate contract terms to secure EPC wins.
Structure PPA and commercial terms with clients and coordinate with finance to secure project funding and approvals.
Maintain and update pipeline and forecasts in CRM; drive partner and stakeholder engagement with corporates, developers, DISCOMs, and channel partners.
Conduct site feasibility assessments and coordinate site surveys, vendor selection, and technical due diligence with internal teams.
Represent the company at industry events, build strategic alliances, and mentor junior sales staff to scale regional growth.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
Proven track record in solar business development and EPC sales within the Indian market.
Strong experience in PPA negotiation, tendering, and commercial structuring for solar projects.
Hands-on experience with RFP/RFQ management and stakeholder negotiations (developers, corporates, DISCOMs).
Proficiency with CRM tools (Salesforce or Zoho) and advanced Excel for financial modelling and bid pricing.
Ability to perform site feasibility assessments and coordinate technical due diligence.
Willingness to travel extensively to project sites and client locations (on-site role).
Preferred
Familiarity with MNRE schemes, state-level net-metering regulations, and other Indian regulatory frameworks.
Experience with PV simulation or monitoring tools such as PVsyst.
PMP certification or prior exposure to project finance and structured financing for energy projects.
