Job Description

The Assistant Manager - Credit plays a pivotal role in managing the credit operations and supporting the credit manager in assessing the creditworthiness of potential clients. This position requires a keen analytical mind, as you will be responsible for evaluating financial data, preparing risk assessments, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. As an Assistant Manager, you will be instrumental in developing and maintaining client relationships, as well as supporting the team by coordinating credit processes and decision-making efficiently. Your role will be critical in mitigating financial risks, enhancing profitability, and ensuring a seamless credit approval process.


Responsibilities

  • Assist in the evaluation of financial statements to determine credit risk factors.
  • Review and analyze credit applications submitted by potential clients.
  • Develop strategies to manage and mitigate credit risks effectively.
  • Monitor ongoing credit operations to ensure compliance with established guidelines.
  • Coordinate with other departments to gather necessary information for credit assessments.
  • Prepare detailed credit reports and present findings to senior management.
  • Support the credit manager in decision-making processes with in-depth analysis.
  • Establish and nurture relationships with clients to understand their financial needs.
  • Conduct regular training sessions for team members on credit policies and procedures.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of new credit policies as required.
  • Analyze market trends to assess potential impacts on credit ratings.
  • Ensure all credit operations comply with legal and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in a financial or credit management role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in credit risk evaluation.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are required.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis software and other relevant technology tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and adhere to tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of relevant financial regulations and credit management principles.
