Job Description

The Admission Counselor is a vital part of the academic admissions process, serving as a primary contact for prospective students at educational institutions. This role encompasses a variety of tasks ranging from conducting informative presentations about the institution to guiding students through the application process. By developing strong relationships with both students and their families, the Admission Counselor aims to facilitate a smooth transition for students entering a new academic chapter. The counselor is expected to have a comprehensive understanding of the institution's programs, policies, and unique selling points, ensuring that prospective students receive accurate and engaging information. Working closely with other departments, the Admission Counselor is instrumental in achieving the institution’s enrollment goals, employing marketing and communication strategies tailored to attract a diverse and qualified student body.


Responsibilities

  • Conduct presentations and workshops to inform prospective students about the institution.
  • Guide prospective students and their families through the application process.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with high school counselors and educational partners.
  • Participate in recruitment events, such as college fairs and open houses.
  • Evaluate and process student applications, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional materials and campaigns.
  • Analyze enrollment data to identify trends and assist in strategic planning.
  • Conduct follow-up communications with prospective students via phone, email, and social media.
  • Provide personalized counseling to address individual concerns and inquiries from applicants.
  • Assist with on-campus tours and coordinate campus visit programs for prospective students.
  • Maintain an up-to-date knowledge of admissions policies and program offerings.
  • Prepare and present reports on recruitment activities and outcomes to management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in education, communications, or a related field is required.
  • Previous experience in admissions or a related student services role preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential.
  • Ability to present information to large groups and diverse audiences effectively.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with CRM software.
  • Willingness to travel and work nontraditional hours, including evenings and weekends.
