Job Description

The Admission Counselor is an integral part of the admissions team, responsible for recruiting, engaging, and enrolling prospective students. This dynamic role involves interacting with students and their families, guiding them through the admission process, and providing comprehensive information about the institution's programs and offerings. The candidate will work within a collaborative environment to improve student engagement, enhance application numbers, and achieve enrollment targets. As the first point of contact for many potential students, the Admission Counselor must exhibit excellent communication skills, have a passion for education, and possess the ability to build relationships with diverse communities. A successful Admission Counselor will reflect the institution’s values while consistently providing exceptional support to prospective students throughout the admissions cycle.


Responsibilities

  • Organize and participate in recruitment events, school visits, and college fairs.
  • Present informational sessions to prospective students and their families.
  • Review applications and documents to ensure completeness and eligibility.
  • Provide personalized guidance to students navigating the application process.
  • Maintain accurate records of prospective student interactions and applications.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with high school counselors and educators.
  • Actively contribute to the development of admissions strategies and goals.
  • Respond promptly to inquiries via email, phone, and in-person meetings.
  • Track and report on recruitment metrics and personal performance goals.
  • Collaborate with academic departments to align recruitment efforts and messages.
  • Stay updated with current educational trends and admission-related regulations.
  • Offer support in planning and executing orientation and onboarding sessions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, Marketing, or related field.
  • At least two years of experience in admissions or related roles preferred.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for diverse interactions.
  • Ability to work independently while being a supportive team player.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and student information systems is required.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
