Job Description

The Accounts Assistant plays a vital role in the smooth operation of our accounting department, assisting in various financial tasks to ensure accuracy and compliance with established practices. As an integral part of the finance team, the Accounts Assistant is responsible for supporting the finance team by maintaining accurate records, preparing routine financial reports, and performing data entry tasks. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with accounting regulations.
  • Assist in the preparation and management of monthly financial statements and reports.
  • Perform data entry tasks, including entering and verifying financial transactions.
  • Support the accounts payable and receivable functions to maintain healthy cash flow.
  • Reconcile accounts to ensure all statements are correctly balanced.
  • Collaborate with team members to resolve financial discrepancies efficiently.
  • Prepare and process invoices, following up on overdue accounts.
  • Assist with the preparation of payroll by providing accurate financial information.
  • Assist in periodic audits and work with auditors during audit exercises.
  • Respond to financial inquiries by gathering, analyzing, and interpreting data.
  • Participate actively in the month-end and year-end financial closure processes.
  • Maintain confidentiality and integrity of financial information and systems.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional accounting education preferred.
  • Prior experience in an accounting or bookkeeping role is advantageous.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain financial accuracy.
  • Proficient in using accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Good organizational and time management skills with ability to multitask.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for clear data presentation.
  • Willingness to work collaboratively in a team and adapt to changing priorities.
