Job Description

The role of an Accounting Associate is pivotal in any organization as it ensures the financial health and compliance of the company. Accounting Associates support the accounting and finance team by performing diverse duties such as managing accounts payable and receivable, preparing financial reports, and ensuring accurate and timely recording of transactions. They are adept at handling various accounting software and possess a keen eye for detail, ensuring that all financial data is accurate and up-to-date. Working under the supervision of a senior accountant, they contribute significantly to the financial planning and analysis process, facilitating informed decision-making within the company. Their analytical skills and proficiency in numbers are critical in preparing budgets and forecasts, helping to track the company’s performance against its financial targets.


Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of accurate financial records and statements.
  • Reconcile bank statements and credit card accounts to ensure all transactions are recorded correctly.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable by processing invoices, payments, and collections.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to support management’s review processes.
  • Support the annual budgeting and forecasting processes in collaboration with senior accountants.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial audits, providing documentation and explanations as needed.
  • Maintain and streamline accounting systems and software for efficiency and accuracy.
  • Monitor daily financial transactions and verify the accuracy of automated data entries.
  • Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to address financial concerns and improvements.
  • Perform other accounting duties and support junior staff as required by the management team.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance accounting processes and practices.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • At least two years of professional experience in an accounting or finance role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, SAP, or equivalent is mandatory.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to liaise with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
